REACH and the press
We've been extra busy this week over at REACH. In addition to our regular programming, we were part of several special events.
First, we partnered with Farm Credit Canada (FCC) to host a press conference at our plant location on Wed (March 26). The FCC Regina Spirit Fund was presenting cheques to 13 different community organizations who had received funding and REACH was one of them! We received $10,000 for children's education programs! Next, on Thursday, March 27, we were part of a press conference at the University of Regina for the Community Food Assessment (CFA) project that we are involved in. At this conference, we launched the CFA's groundbreaking Environmental Scan research document, which compiles all the existing research that we have about our city's food system. For more information about this event, this document and the CFA, you can read the Leader-Post article here.
On Friday, March 28, we hosted a Community Kitchen Training program for those who are interested in learning more about facilitating cooking programs. We had a good turnout, great conversation and a wonderful day!
Also on Friday, we had several Mosaic volunteers help us with general cleanup at our plant and with preparation for an upcoming event as part of a team-building initiative! It was a very successful week.
